im 16 yrs old .. i got my period abt 3yrs ago.. ive been dieting for abt 4.5months now .. and the last time i got my period i was 2 wks late.. and now i got my period for a few hrs and it dint come back .. is this bad? is it coz of my dieting? im not fat but im still strict on my diet..

  1. it could for sure be happening becuz of your diet.  and why are you dieting at 16???  come on kids.  

    just exercise and eat sensibly.  no diet.  exercise/eat sensibly.  


  2. being underweight or overweight can cause periods to be late or absent. i would go to the gyn and let them check it out.

    ps don't be to strict on that diet u don't want to end up looking like a no. 2 pencil. curves are in!

    if you can't stop dieting it sounds like something might be more wrong than just missing a period. you should seek professional help, that is a sickness. please don't kill yourself to be thin. it's not worth it. i wish you good luck

  3. its probly cuz of the dieting.

    when u change the amound and kind of food and excersize of ur life ur matabalism changes and so does ur peried. later on it schould find a good scedule tho

  4. sounds like your dieting is excessive if you have lost your period, you need to speak to a doctor and make sure your healthy.  my sister is anorexic and hasnt had her period in over a year. this could render you unable to have children in the future

  5. A strict diet will almost always delay your period. It's an abrupt change in your body's hormones. It may not come back at all if you are really starving yourself. If you diet in a healthy way it will come back. Not having it is a sign you are pushing too much on this diet.

  6. When your body starts acting differently, its telling you that whatever your doing is bad for it. Listen to the signs that its trying to give you. If you want to diet, do it properly and healthily. If you seriously cant stop dieting then maybe you need some help. From what youve said, your diet seems a bit excessive, your body does also need some fat! Whilst eating healthily is great, you need a balanced diet. That means a bit of everything.  

  7. if you don't need to be on a diet then you shouldn't be. it will effect your bodies hormones causeing your period to be delayed.

    You may need more nutrients in your body, being on a strict diet can still make your body a bit unhealthy because you may not be getting enough of everything you need.

  10. I would definitely talk to your doctor.  It sounds like you are not getting enough nutrients.  Can you be more specific with how strict your diet is?

  11. welll actually if you are dieting way to strctly it can cause troubles like that in your menstrual cycle..

    so i suggest you stop worring about dieting and be healthy.
