  1. If you stay for a long time, be sure that you will catch it.

  2. Hello

No, but you could catch the cold..........It all depends on how long you plan to stay. I have lived in London for 13 Years, originaly from Scotland, so my accent is a bit strange.

  3. i cought their accent after watching " bend it like beckham" twice a month. so you'll get their accent but you won't feel it untill your american friends see you again they can tell if your accent is different

  4. No, unless you go there from a really young age and stay there for a long time but judging your age from the fact that you know about yahoo answers I'd day your too old to catch an England accent. Although you can catch it if you mimic the accent for a long time and eventually you naturally talk that way

No unless you were like 6 and your parents and you moved down to live there till you were maybe 19 you would not develop a permanent accent or even a temporary one

  5. Two ways of looking at the question - will you end up speaking like a Brit or will you have difficulty in understanding people.  For the first, I don't think you will change your way of speaking dramatically, unless you stay a long time.

If you are concerned about understanding people, America has a huge range of accents - guess what, the UK does too.  Accents vary between north, south, east and west.  The accents in (and within) Wales, Scotland and Ireland all differ too.

I do not think you would have a problem in understanding people - we invented the language after all !!

The link below will give you an overview of different accents and you are able to listen to them online....
