She went to the pool with some friends today, jumped off the high dive too many times, went down the slide too many, as well to get to the point, she has a severe case of the runs and her stomach hurts really bad. could all the jumping have caused this, how long will it last, anything she can do to help it go away?

  1. The actual jumping did not cause your child's illness.  However, she may have picked it up from the often disgusting public pools and bathrooms.

  2. i hate to tel this to you but its from the pool, because it was a public pool then a lot of people go in and out of the pool which causes a lot of gearms....if you get the july edition of seventeen theres a article in it on the disseases you can catch at the pool.

sorry for my horrible spelling =)

  3. Jumping, diving and sliding will not cause diarrhea.  Your 15-year old has picked up an illness somewhere along the road prior to going to the pool.  The causes of this symptom are many and varied and without further information it is impossible to tell how long it might last.  If she becomes seriously dehydrated and if over-the-counter medications do not improve her symptoms within 48 hours or so it would be time to see the Doctor.
