  1.   OK first of all I am curious why you think you need piston rings??? The RX-7 has what is called a rotary engine. You should really do some homework regarding your car. Rotary engines have no pistons, so therefore you dont need piston rings.

  2. HAHAHAHA!!! you have a rotary engine dude!  no pistons.  unless you did an LS1 swap (doubt you did) then you will need piston rings.  but you have a Rotary engine. oh and have fun with a very un-reliable engine.

The Wankel engine is a type of internal combustion engine which uses a rotary design to convert pressure into a rotating motion instead of using reciprocating pistons. Its four-stroke cycle is generally generated in a space between the inside of an oval-like epitrochoid-shaped housing and a roughly triangular rotor. This design delivers smooth high-rpm power from a compact, lightweight engine.

  3. your lucky to have a RX-7 And think about the car

  4. The parts are out there, from drop in up grades to specific engine parts.

There are sites that offer engine swap information and hints ranging from dropping in a for 2.3 turbo to a small block chevy engine.

Here is one link I found for engine parts.

There are plenty of parts on e-bay.

    Even direct shipment from Japan.

  5. Well, you'll have a hard time finding piston rings for a rotary, but I've got some muffler bearings I can sell you... <grin>

  6. Asking for piston rings for a FD? Time to sell and get a civic! You sound almost as bad as this guy:

Okay, joking aside, go to www.rx7club.com and do your homework by reading the FAQs and Newbie sections. It sounds like you blew an apex seal, which killed your compression. Do a search for "blown apex seal". And last, NEVER inquire about piston rings for a 13B. Whoever told you have shouldn't be within 50 feet of a rotary car, and they deserve an a**-kicking for telling you to get piston rings.

Your biggest mistake is owning a FD before you know how to maintain it. Warmup is Mandatory on every cold start, no exceptions. Not warming it up will kill a rotary.

  7. Lucky, you get an rx7 for a first car. But um, you got a rotary under that hood. Piston rings? more like apex seals.

  8. You have tip  seals on the three sided rotor x 2. This is a big job, but the seal would have to come from the Mazda dealer and Hiroshima.

Make sure the oil injector is properly working.

Do not use after market on this.

    Good Luck
