From London St Pancras to Nottingham? I keep trying to buy a ticket on the internet and it just gets so complicated. If I buy an adult open ticket how much would it be?

  1. It's going to depend on how far ahead you can book...

£50.40 return  tomorrow, dropping to £22.00 return booked a month ahead on Raileasy.

If you are going this weekend, the East Midlands site seems to offer better possibilities,

    **Open tickets are very expensive**

Don't use unless you don't mind the cost, or really don't know exactly when you'll need to travel.

  2. Here's the lovely, easy site I use every time I book rail travel in the UK. http://thetrainline.com

You need to say when you'll be travelling, to get the best deals. For instance, a regular adult "saver return" for tomorrow is £50.70.

If you really, really want an open return they're more expensive: £121.50 for travel tomorrow.

Your cheapest option (again, for tomorrow) would be to buy two "standard advance" single tickets, at £19 each.  But you can get singles for as low as £16 each -- have a look at Saturday's trains.

Go and have a look: it's a very helpful, straightforward site to use.

    Good luck.

    =D

  3. USE GOOGLE MAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  4. London St Pancras to Nottingham by train - you want East Midlands Trains. www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk. You can search for tickets there. If you know your journey details, get an advance ticket, if you don't - get a saver return or open return. The fares should also be shown on the website.

The annoying thing about the UK rail network is it's VAST array of different tickets (although this is gradually being simplified - and not before time!!!)

  5. Buying an Open, one-way ticket at the station would cost £63.50

A Saver (Cheap Day Single) Ticket will cost £49.70 (but has some restrictions: can't use during peak time)

Book well in advance and a Value Advance ticket may cost ~£15

  6. Go to Map Quest.com for distances and routes to get where you want to go. Us any travel site to get a ticket. How do you think we can help you here? ,,,*scratches head!

  7. I agree with a previous poster ... www.thetrainline.com is my preferred site for buying rail tickets as well

there are many different prices for rail tickets so there is no easy answer to your question ... an open ticket is usually one of the most expensive ways to buy a ticket ... usually if you browse through the ticket options that "thetrainline" pulls up you can get two singles for much less cost ... so if you know when you're coming back I'd suggest you look at two singles

  8. i have the perfect site for you to check out, its called Megabus.com or megatrain.com     give ur destination and date and so on and it will give u pretty good prices...i will be getting mine from there as mine is exactly the same as yours but vise versa if u get what i mean...

    anyway good luck!

can u try and help me out with my question anyone? =S http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
