I READ THAT BOOK.it was like little kids who believe in the Boogie man as they grow up there idea of the Boogie man changes with them.

Just like everything in life greed gets in the way.  Even in the Holy Bible Lucifer seek to be better and more powerful then God.  Zeus being the King of Gods in Mythology had many Gods and Goddesses envious of his power and him.  Others even seek to harm his son and those he loved and when Zeus was not firm with his son they pointed and said favoritism so he had to be harder on whom he loved the most.
