Okay, so a couple weeks ago i was laying in bed trying to go back to sleep. Then all of a sudden i couldnt breath. I tryed to get my cell phone - which was right by my hand - but i couldnt move at all. the only thing i could move was my eyes. Then I started freaking out and i thought i was dyeing or something.

But then about an hour later, well thats what it felt like anyway I started breathing again but i still couldnt move. It was actually less than 20 seconds, but it felt like a long time.

And it happened again the next week. But that time it was longer. And the next day it happened twice. Each time it gets longer and longer.

And it also feels like im getting sucked into the bed, or like 700 pounds is on top of me.

Its really scarey and I hav no idea why its happening. Im in good health and nothing else is wrong. Has anyone had this happen?

And yeah im going to the doctors if it happens again.

  1. I agree with the devil theory. serious. the doctor will probably tell you he/she doesn't know what it is and will make you come back for plenty of costly visits. pray and i bet you it will be shorter next time.

  2. Go to the doctor now! Don't wait! If it gets worse than its better to go now...I don't know why you didn't go to the doctor in the first place go now, coz it might get worse and they cant do anything, so just go!

    I will pray for you! Get well! :)

  3. dont worry youre fine, theres nothing wrong with you. i use to do that all the time. its called sleep paralysis. this occurs after waking up or shortly before falling asleep. The person cannot move any body part, cannot speak, and only has minimal control over blinking and breathing. This paralysis is the same paralysis that occurs when dreaming. The brain paralyzes the muscles to prevent possible injury during dreams, as some body parts may move during dreaming. If the person wakes up suddenly, the brain may still think that it is dreaming, and sustains the paralysis.

    now here are some possible causes as to why this happens

        * Sleeping in a face upwards or supine position

        * Irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in, sleep deprivation

        * Increased stress

        * Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes

        * A lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode.

  4. time to go see if you got ashma baby.  that is what it what it is sounding like to me.

  5. It's a sleep disorder. There is actually nothing *wrong* with you per se, just the order in which things happen is out of whack. I had a lecture last year about this in my human development class, and I remember it because I thought to myself how interesting that was and how scary it must feel. Anyway, the prof said he has a friend that has had this for many years. He said that what happens basically is that when you fall asleep, your body releases a certain chemical to keep you relaxed and paralized. This is very useful because if it didn't, you would sleep walk when you dream and people would be jumping out of windows and killing each other, etc. So your problem is that the body kicks in with this chemical before you're actually asleep. Some people have the oposite problem: they fall asleep and that chemical doesn't release, and they are dangerous because they can walk around and do stuff without even knowing. So the best thing to do if you can is just to know it will go away, it's temporary, and know there isn't anything really wrong, just a little out of order. If you can't breathe though, that is another issue, so either way go to a doctor because they can do a sleep study on you and maybe there are treatments. I just don't know any more than what I remember from that lecture. Good luck!

  6. Oh my God. That is terrifying!

    It sounds like a stroke or a heart attack, only each night. (I'm not saying that's what it is)

    I would call the doctor first, before it happens again and before you go.

    This sounds very serious, and someone needs to be alerted immediately.

  7. My mom said somethin like this happened to her personally I think its the devil so pray and call on Jesus to banish him back to the pits of h**l from whenst he came thats what my mom did and it never happened to her again
