  1. No I think it can be fun on a Saturday night in the Summer and even during the Christmas season.

I live i.n Flat Rock and I use to enjoy driving around looking at the beautiful homes with my kids. We even use to drive to Monroe

  2. Yes I do think so.  I use to live in Oakland county also and I did the same thing.  I find downriver much more interesting, so much that now I live there.

  3. I think down river is rich in culture just like the rest of the Detroit metro area, despite the fact it's one of the poorer suburban areas of Detroit.

If you have the money to spend, than I really don't see what the problem is. The only time I would call you stupid is if you're struggling with finances and can't afford to use so much gas.

  4. I think if you enjoy it and like to explore new places that you do not see everyday, then you should do it.  I do not think it is weird.  I think it is a way of just getting out of your neighborhood and going to somewhere wear you feel welcome.

  5. i am from downriver myself and my father and i sometimes just drive around the downriver area to. We live just outside the hustle of downriver and are mostly country, the city is called New Boston. i think its neat to see all the old towns like Wyandotte and Trenton and even see all the nice mansions on Grose Ile. i don't think it is stupid at all in fact i think its cool that you can just relax and cruise like my parents used to when gas was only 50 cents a gallon. i just got back from a vacation trip with my dad out in Boston, Mass  the scenery was nice and the mountains were cool but the people were some of the ugliest i have ever seen and i don't mean appearance wise i mean the way they act and the way their portray themselves. i was never as happy to get back to Michigan, the people here are just more caring and welcoming even to strangers.

  6. Not in the least.  Aren't young kids always told they should explore, and learn about the world/area around them?  Why should it be any different for adults?  We aren't living in a bubble; we're living in a global community.  I don't understand the people who consider themselves knowledgeable about worldwide issues/cultures/people, but aren't aware of the (unique or commonplace) people/places/things in their own backyards.

By all means, drive around as long as you can afford the gas - when you can't, take walks or use manpowered modes of transportation.
