Bobby Robson has faced up to the fact that he is dying, or should he still fight as strongly as though he had a chance to be cured?

  1. Well said Haz.  I can't add to your post, only to say you are so right.

    My story too!!

Even when it doesn't take your life it takes away other things.     ♡♡

    Haz. yeah bloody evil.  xx

  2. Firstly I like Bobby Robson and feel sympathy for him and his loved ones.

I just HATE the notion that someone can 'fight' cancer that they can battle it and win through due to their courage and spirit.

Nonsense. Cancer is just a cruel disease that robs people's lives often way too young. If you win through its just circumstance and nothing else. Everyone has lost loved ones to cancer. Who knows someone who died within weeks or months of diagnosis? What were they? Did they die so soon cos the didn't battle?

EDIT-Aurora-I suspected as much..it's like a bloody spook sitting on your shoulder isn't it? for you x*x

  3. A legend to the end.

It is totally his decision what he decides to do, and I totally respect him for that.  After all, this is his 5th bout of the cancer and he is no spring chicken any more.  Good luck to him!

  4. i just put up the same question. we must have done it at the same time.ooooops

    I'll go delete mine.

He's a true gentleman and propa Geordie.my heart goes out to him and his family x*x

My mams best friend has been given until the weekend with lung cancer,it's her second bout.

It's such a degrading disease. She was a very proud woman and now she's just an empty shell.

    Thanks hun x

  5. I would say going 5 rounds with Cancer-he is a pretty tough contender.  Our prayers go out to him and his family.

  6. If it's his fifth bout of the disease then it is beating him as he says. None of us are invincible. It is a shame, but at least Sir Bobby can go onto a better place having lived a very rich & priviledged life. He is in his 70's so any further treatment, Chemo etc could make him worse off.

I feel sorry for anyone having to face stuff like that. It's not good.

  7. Very sad and not easy to face up to.

  8. Cancer is taking so many lives now a days, plus he isn't that young anymore... I dunno. If I knew my chances were very slim, I'd give it up. (I heard that chemotherapy is a very debilitating and scary thing to go through.)

  9. This is very sad.  I have lost 3 close relatives to cancer and understand what he and his family must be going throuhg.  But unfortunately being realistic when cancer takes hold depending how far gone you have to expect it and this is the cruelty of real life.
