i want to repaint the wall, but looking at this upclose is really ugly and i think it will make the paint look uneven down there, what shud i do?

  1.   It is old caulk.. remove it and touch up the wall as needed w/ spackling and paint.. Renail to tighten that gap a bit and then recaulk,That way you have an easier edge to paint to ..GL  


  2. Clean that edge up....putty knife-razor blade-soap and water. Tape off the edge when you paint and apply caulking after paint dries.

  3. Remove that caulk and recaulk - but make sure the new caulk specifies that it is paintible (some are not).

  4. I'm pretty sure that that is caulking at the bottom that has just deteriorated over time. Just scrape off the stuff with a metal trowel, and put a bead of caulking. Then wet your finger and run it along the bead of caulking to the end. Let it dry and re-paint, you won't even know the

    caulking is there. Good luck..
