so let's pretend that someone gets mad because they can't be in the infantry or their country can't go to war, so they get themselves a plane ticket and fly over to iran and basically like turn into a serial killer of terrorists..

what does that make you?

A vigilante....like Batman or a character of the sort. The terrorists deserve to die, and if you take it in your own hands, then you're a vigilante. The terrorists are NOT innocent people. Now you couldn't do it recklessly. It must be planned; you must find the targets and their areas of operations and get them there. If you do it in the street then you might get the bystanders as well. That's a vigilante.  

The funny flip side of the coin is that if you saw a terrorist plot about to be carried out and you stopped it, you'd be a hero. But if you do a preemptive, then it looks like murder. Crazy, isn't it.

Not a serial killer, who kills at random and for their own pleasure.

Not a terrorist, who kills to frighten people and achieve political goals.

Not exactly an assassin, who kills for money.

A vigilante. A person who takes justice, or their idea of it, into their own hands.

If you asked our Gov't -- It would depend on what type of spin the media put on it.

If you asked God (If you believe) -- I think he would say murderer

If you ask the person doing it -- Hero

How would you go about finding the terrorists?

I mean our gov't can't find em all and they have been using how many people and how much money over how long a span of time?

a  terrorist kills innocent people. A military member targets other military targets and combatants. Yes, sometimes there are some civilian casualties, but much less if you were to hop of a  plane and start spraying a machine gun
