after he had been adviced not to, and has more of less broken his knee

Well the person who wrote this was wrong that's not how Tiger hurt his knee.  He hurt it will jogging near his home.  He had surgery, and then he walked and played golf on it after the doctors told him not too.  And Guess what!  He won the whole thing.  

So The man is better then any athlete on the planet.  Is This my opinion NO this is Fact there is no other athlete on the planet that makes more money then Tiger woods.

I totally agree with you, I can't believe how much press he is getting for playing hurt. I've had three operations on my foot, but I was playing two weeks after one of them after i was advised not too play for 6-8 weeks, and i came back and won a tournament shoooting 45 stabelford points on a 24 handicap. Although that was three years ago.

I think he may possibly turn out to be the all time winningest golfer that ever played the game. Time will tell. He is pretty amazing at times. Having said that, I do not like him because he has no class. Zip. Nada. I don't remember seeing Player or Nickolas (?) or Palmer or many other greats of this "gentleman's game" sling clubs down and pound the fairway because the shot stunk. I'm sure it happened occasionally. But this guy is over the top with his attitude at times. My opinion only.

talk to me about courage when he signs up for the Army, gets wounded and patched up, and is back out in the frontlines again (like some of those kids in Iraq) or risks his life saving someone from a burning building.... no professional athlete is a hero or has any guts... they're out there for their paychecks and nothing else.

He won a major with a recently scoped knee. Golf is not the most exciting sport to watch, so the commentators had to make a big deal of it.

It doesn't say much of the other pros if he beat them on a bad knee. Or it says a whole bunch about Tiger Woods.

I agree that it is a little mellowdramatic for the announcers and media to be praising his "courage" and 'guts".  Even if the guy shot a 200 and crippled himself for life, he would still have $100m/year in endorsements and a swimsuit model wife waiting at home for him.

I guess I could buy it if they praised his tenacity, but the words courage and guts are kind of comical!
