  1. Congratulations, you had one good fight in boxing. They have accomplished  so much......

Honestly, not everybody likes the exact same thing as the next person. You do not like MMA. No one is forcing you to watch it. I personally don't enjoy boxing, but I don't go into your forums bugging people about it, because I respect them, AND, i do box myself. Some people enjoy wrestling, others think it sux because "its fake." It is fake, but so are movies, and I enjoy those. Stop making up excuses, to why this sux and this is better, when you don't understand sh/it about it. Thats like me going up to a football fan after the best game ever and saying it sucked. I don't play football. So how can I talk about it???

  2. Going by your example JACK DEMPSEY and JOE LOUIS  were'nt very good boxers as they both had the habit of ending fights in the 1st round.

Also the king of sports is horse racing because it is the sport of kings.

Boxing is the only fighting art I know of in which the top names have body guards .How come?

Ali got run out of a casino in VEGAS by SONNY LISTON who told ALI that if he didn't stop his pre fight antics and wanted to go then and there he would never be able to walk into a ring again  wheeled in in a wheel chair maybe but not walk in.

  3. Yes, and that's why MMA is not popular anymore.

    Wait.........

  4. if youre talking about stamina, heart, and skill, then Boxing definately takes this one. altho I love MMA, boxing always has a place for me. But dont downsize MMA too much, as I said this a million times, the MMA is still in a developing stage, it'll soon get more sophisticated over the years. Dont believe me, look at the rules of how boxing was in the 20s, pretty barbaric when it came to the unsafe equipment and boxers still getting their lights put out while they were still getting up at least on their 3s, not to mention, people back then might have been like WTF is a TKO??

watch this short fight between Dempsey vs Williard

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VawHgrLvb...

    brutal fight

  5. royce gracie vs kazushi sakuraba lasted for over 90 minutes.  helio gracie had a fight that lasted over 3 hours and another that was an hour and a half.   its a completely different game, cant compare them.  if either of those boxers got in the cage with GSP they would be tapping or knocked out in the first round too.

on last friday nights fights there was a fight where a black guy punched a white guy in under the first minute and he was down on the ground for 6 seconds and got up but the ref called the fight anway. the guy was perfectly fine but they wouldnt let him continue.  you call that exciting?

  6. i suggest you go watch the Ultimate Fighter season 1 final, with Forest Griffin Vs Stephan Bonner. 15 Mins of pure passion and heart.

Also unlike boxing we get to see the top fighters fighting each other all the time, unlike boxing where there are 5 world champs in each division all dodging each other taking the easy money. in MMA if you want to be world champ u gotta beat the best, not true of boxing no matter what you say.

before all you boxing fans start bad mouthing me i myself am a boxing fan too and watched the Margatito cotto fight and yes it was a great fight, unfortunatly fights like this between the 2 best in there weight division does not happen every month. great fights happen every month but not between the top guys in the division.

i love boxing and MMA, but if boxing doesnt sort itself out and get the fights people want to see regulary then im affraid MMA will soon take over as the top fighting sport.

  7. Boxing is the best punching style I have done although wing chun is great also,I'm not a fan of mma /ufc theses days as I preferred the old days format ( ufc1) so understand where you are coming from ,but a rounded martial artist needs more than punching and kicking hence why I joined Japanese jiu-jitsu as it's covers most things although it's stamina/endurance training isn't as comprehensive  as judo.

    Best wishes :)***

  8. Looks like you have a great opinion of boxing and are actually at least moderately educated in the sport, however you are obviously lacking the knowledge to judge what is happening in an MMA fight, especially if you think they are just rolling on the ground when it hits the mat...Whats the #1 reason boxers don't fair well in MMA?????? Thats right the rolling around on the ground part of it (those educated might refer to the olympic level wrestlers, judoka and world champion JiuJitsu players here) You like boxing better than MMA, I like MMA better, no hard feelings.

  9. d**n right!

  10. very good points. yes, boxing does usually take longer than popular mma bouts. however, unless you're working in the good movies, longer doesn't necessarily mean better. also, fighters working ground techiniques can be nearly as entertaining as fighters working standing techniques. several mma bouts have had entertainment rivaling some of the greatest recorded boxing matches as well. plus, there's nothing wrong with a good knockout in 30 seconds. it happens in boxing quite often, if you haven't noticed

  11. and for every great boxing match there are as many 1st round KOs and as many where the referee has to separate them for holding after every punch that is thrown.

  12. Boxing needs more action. I see fighters settling for a decision too often. It also has become more about money than actual fighting. Floyd Mayweather retired in his prime. Only a fighter with no heart would quit in their prime.

I also have a feeling you have never taken the time to watch an MMA match. Go to a website and watch Griffin vs. Bonnar, and your views will change.

  13. boxing is just one aspect of martial arts. muay thai is better than boxing but nothing is as exciting as mma because it takes every form of fighting style out there and mixes it together.

  14. mma has had and will have those matches that fans just love to watch over and again, just like boxing has had for years.  I believe there is room for both.
