This kid i know does drugs what would happen if i turned him into the police?

If you tell the police and he finds out he will prob hate you but he will later know that you did him a huge favour. It is good to know you care about people. good luck!

You could submit an anonymous tip but those are used with an incredible amount of discretion.  You would have to substantiate your information with extensive detail and exactly how you know it.  The prosecutor would be hard-pressed to use it without being able to justify the extent of the accuracy and the basis of the knowledge.

Probably not much as the police don't have time to arrest all the users out there, they usually don't even have time to care about small time dealers.  What you are proposing constitutes "snitching" in my book.  In these times we need to work together against oppression not bring it on our fellow man.  I'm glad you are concerned for his well being but maybe talking to him about his drug problem would be a better course of action.

Nothing would happen.  One person using is not enough to warrant an investigation.  Now if he is a dealer, then call the police and let them know so they can start looking into him.  He would never know it was you.

Unless he is dealing in drugs, there isn't a point to turning him in.  A lot of people use drugs, they aren't busted for using them, they are normally busted for doing dangerous things while high on them. If you think he is a danger to society, then yes, get the authorities involved. You can remain anonymous.
