when people say what the date ,WHY do they give you the day????

Because they didn't listen carefully.  They didn't know the question would be so important that you would get mad if they misinterpret the question.  Relax, you are dealing with humans.  Some of them don't listen carefully, even when they know it's important.  Get used to it.
