This math problem makes NO SENSE!!?

given P(A),find P(not A).

((theres 2 problems))

P(A) = 45%

P(A) = 16/33

  1. Sounds like a very horribly written question as if you are trying to find out what is not P(A), in the first problem all real numbers not .45 should be the answer.

    But I'd go with Doc on this one.


  2. The problem is asking you to find the part that is not A.

    In the first problem, A is 45%; so out of 100%, the part that is not A is 55%. Do you see the idea?

    In the second problem, A is 16/33. The part that is not A is the part of 33/33 that still remains. Can you figure it out?
