I'm just wondering how old a cat or dog is when they are no longer a kitten/puppy. I have one of each and I still call them puppy and kitten, but they're both about 1 now. I'm just curious. Thanks.

  1. it doesn't really matter. we still call my 6 year old cat our kitten.  i suppose technically they stop being kittens at about 1

  2. Please don't blame it on your baby, when you say "dumb."

  3. A dog is a puppy til 2 years old. But I still call my Pomeranian a puppy and she's 8.

  4. i heard 8 months or 9

  5. 2 years old

  6. large dogs are considered pups until they are 2 years old, medium dogs are considered pups unitl about 6 months and small dogs are about 6 months as well. where as cats are usually not kittens untill they are around 3 months because thats when they can catch their own food.

  7. My cats just became cats but i still call them kittens at  2 years now. They still have times they are so silly and funny.Yet they are cats now i know that and they are calming down real well.I raised them both from 6 weeks old.So i would say just watch how they act and you will know.

  8. um i would say usually around 3-4 years old or whenever they start calming down

  9. Cats are still growing until they are about 18 months, but I would say that between 9-18 months, they are at the "teenager" stage. Cats are still kittens at 3 months; it doesn't have anything to do with an ability to catch food.
