How come you can't wear white after labor day?

  1. You can. It depends on the shade. You can wear a winter white (which has a more blue/gray appearance), you can wear cream.

    Wiki states this: "An old custom prohibits the wearing of white after Labour Day. The explanations for this tradition range from the fact that white clothes are worse protection against cold weather in the winter to the fact that the rule was intended as a status symbol for new members of the middle class in the late 19th century and early 20th century."


  2. you can... but in the old says liek in the 80's white was a summer color. so it means that summer is over.back in the 60's - 80's people stoped wearing white like puuuree white after summer. but you coul wear liek biege white or blue/gray/white. it just symbolizes that sumemr is over. but you can.. its not liek a crime or anytihng
