This may seem really weird but...?

How come whenever I clean out my left ear with a q-tip, it makes my throat tickles and I cough? I know its not coincidence because it happens every time.

That happens to me too.  They're all connected.  That's why there are EAR, nose, and THROAT doctors! :)

Because you're pushing the earwax deeper into your ear.  That's the tickle you're feeling.  If you keep up this practice, you'll end up with either a blocked ear, a punctured ear drum, or an ear infection.  All very painful.  

Your ear has it's own natural way of cleaning itself out.  You don't need to do anything but clean the outside of your ears.
