and you see - how should i say this?- you see an element of your dream superimposed on the real stuff that is around you...

for example, you "wake up" from your dream by opening your eyes. You know you are awake because you told yourself in your dream to wake up and because you also see what's around you.. You see what is around you in real life, but you still feel kind of weird like you are not all there...then you see something that you KNOW can't be real and you say to yourself... h**l no, this is real, i'm looking at it, and i'm awake, but it can't be real... and you say to yourself don't blink, don't blink, don't blink, and then whatever you were seeing disappears... and you didn't blink, and now you're left thinking if you are crazy or if you just woke up and that itself was part of a dream...

  1. I had a similar "dream experience' when I woke up from surgery in April. I looked at my hubby and was like:"Wtf?" The doctor said, it was all a reflection from the "anesthesia" and the Valium. Everything is possible while your eyes are open, anything !! :-)

  2. That sound like a hallucination to me. not a dream.

  3. I believe when you see a dream while awake it is called a "vision".  I have experienced this, even without sleeping, but not often!

  5. Yes, it is, indeed, possible to do so as long as your level of sleep (as determined by electroencephalography) is within REM range.
