if someone you love has died that they can possess your animal (i.e. cat) to be close to you??

Idk where I got this from... just something that popped into my head.

My mother was killed 10 days ago and ever since, my cat has been super clingy. She's usally pretty clingy but now it's like WHOA!

  1. sorry to hear bout your mother i've never heard anything like this before i guess its still sort of possible then again your pets can get clingy to you its like a bond you make with them but if your cat is really that clingy then idk contact a psychic and have him/her take a "closer" look into your cat to see if there's anything along the lines of possession

  2. i am a ghost

  3. So sorry about your mom, your animals are just sensing your mood and offering comfort they do it naturally.

  4. I also lost my mother  after a while there was the  cat she had given me we became more attached than ever today we smile at each other from time to time there is a bond we have not always seen eye to eye when I think about you and how you have become closer you and your cat it brings good feelings of me and my cat I have gotten closer to my cat and now my cat is on my lap sure is good to hold a loving creature in my arms knowing we will always have each other in our hearts no matter what may happen I believe all things that are close that I have known are and will always be a part of me and I of them so how ever you see it thanks for the time linking up is as if time never existed the ending I mean  as I sleep tonight I will dream of just what is within me  and there I know where I am and that be together with all of me thank you for the memories

  5.   could be.  its more likely that the animal senses your sadness and is trying to make you feel better.

like, keep an eye out for any behavior changes that may indicate otherwise though.  like, if you cat suddenly picks up habbits your mother had, maybe mom came back for a visit?

i dont think it sounds weird at all.  just one of lifes little mysterys i guess.

im sorry to hear about your mother, i wish the best to you and your family.  think of all the happy times you had with her, and keep her mermory alive!

  6. Chinese have a lot of history, during those long years, a lot of stories of deceased came back and possessed animals to say goodbyes to their relatives.

They rarely stay for very long, if they possess animals to say goodbye. Unless, as according to Buddhism, which people can became animals because of their negative karma, and if that is the case, it was the attachment of you that your mother can come back as animal to be near you.

But more likely situation is that she is hovering around you, to watch over you, and only when necessary then she possess your animals to comfort you.

This is also the most common cases of so call "Guardian Angels" to most people, so for most people- guardian angels are deceased relatives, who watch over their love ones.

  7. cat sence your sadness  and iam sorry to here that about your mom

  8. I am sorry for your loss.  But yes everyone who answered is correct.  Animals know when things just aren't right.  They are very sensitive to our emotions.  My dog takes care of everyone in my family.  The only thing I still done understand is my ex.  He mistreated her and she still loves him soo much.  Love is blind (Huh).  Personally I don't think she knows she's an animal.  She acts human to me.  Anyways sweetie take all the hugs and kisses your pets wants to give you they are trying to help the only way they know how.  With LOVE.  Take Care

  9. thats called recarnation and it is something the buddhas has believed in. if you are good you will turn into a good animal, and if bad you will turn into the oposite. but anyways i dont believe it.

  10. yes i believe, every chinese new years there is one black or white butterfly flying around the house probably our ancenstor come to visit or far relative come by. As silently flying around, i thought may be is our grandfather just recently pass away.

  11. It's a well known phenomena that cats (and dogs) are able to recognise their owner's moods - and act accordingly.  For example, many people will confirm that their dog will place their head on their owners knee when they see them sad.

I'd suggest you are experiencing your cat's desire to "reinsert" itself into your life.  I doubt very much you are your normal self, and your cat is probably just trying to ensure that you still care about its welfare.

It's more likely a case of "look at me!"...  "I'm still here", "don't you still love me?", than your mother's spirit "possessing" your moggy.  Pet's are great comfort in our grief; their love is unconditional.

39 is waaaay too young to die.

    My condolences.

The pain does fade (voice of experience).

Give your pets all the love you can muster; they'll return it ten-fold - and it helps heal the wounds.

  12. I was at the funeral of my uncle just last night and was talking to one of my cousins and he mentioned something like this.  He said that they had this horse that was mean and wild and bit him every time he got near and then his step dad died and all of a sudden that horse loved him.  He would kiss him and nudge him to pet him and was crazy about him.  It can happen.

After my dad died my ma was heartbroken.  Then out of nowhere a black dog showed up and was all over her.  Before my daddy died they watched a movie called dances with white dog where the wite dog was the reincarnation of the main stars wife and then that dog showed up.  I think it was my daddy who sent it to her for comfort.

  13. gosh i am very sorry.

I would think she is scared w/o mom.

  14. Don't let certain people know you're saying that though... they can be a little up-tight about the after life.

Anyway, I believe that it could happen, I mean, you never know. My mother passed away at the age of 36 and when she was alive she would always rescue animals off the side of the road, fix them up and find them good homes. At one point she had 22 dogs, 19 cats, and a iguana (sp?). After she passed I found that random animals on the streets would make their way into my back yard. and just live there until my dad gave them to a shelter.

  15. Cats are known to be guardians of the living.  Part in their popularity with Ancient Egypt and folklures e.g.  a black cat sends bad luck.  Cats are highly supersensitive to all around us and after the passing of your mother your cat has been close to you to replace that bond/help heal you.

Instead of your cat being pocessed I'd believe more that your mom has sent the cat to fill your lonliness, wipe your tears, make you feel loved since she is not in person to do all this herself. Cats unlike humans are more receptive to messages.  And your cat here is just here to watch over you.

Her kisses and her hugs are hugs from you mother.  Not that your mother is your cat, but more that your cat can see and hear your mother when you cannot.

You don't need a cat to know this sweet heart, whenever your mom pops into your head and shivers run down your spin and something reminds you of her...is her way of letting y ou know she is right there next to you.  That's how you know you are  not alone and that she is watching protecting loving always...even after her passing.
