This might be a dumb question, but is doing make up part of cosmetology??

Or does cosmetology only have to do with skin care, hairstyling, manicures and pedicures, and electrology?

Cosmetology is hair Skin and Nails..So Yes, It is....their is also Estheticians, Which is skin, and that involves anything to do with skin(Make up included.)

YES! Cosmetology encompasses many fields. Branches that you can specialize in include hairstyling, skin care (facials, dermabrasion, peels), cosmetics (makeup artistry), manicures/pedicures, and electrology (removal of hair).

To work in any of these branches of cosmetology you will have to attend special courses and pass a state licensing exam.  You will not be able to work until you are licensed. There are probably cosmetology schools in your area that can provide more information on classes, qualifications,etc. Most will send you pamphlets and class catalogs if you request them.  Good luck!
