This might be the worst news EVER ........?

I really hope Ben Spies makes the right choice : http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/May/080531g.htm

If he signs to WSB it will be a really bad choice. He is too good for WSB, this will be proved at Laguna & Indy when he wild cards there.

Lets just hope that either Rizzla / Master Aspar or Ducati get him signed ASAP. There is a few stories going about that Colin #5 might be looking at the Green side of the force ! so Tech 3 could even land him.

If he went to WSB, with no Bayliss, he would win it first year out. Maybe !!

Your thoughts please ? Race fans.

  1. I think WSB would be good for Ben, as long as he dominates with in 1 or 2 seasons, did no harm for Edwards or Toesland.

Then he can jump to Moto GP in the best possible shape.

  2. I'd like to see him head to Moto GP and I think that is where Ben wants to go.  He makes riding look effortless and he gets so far ahead (5 seconds or more) that I forget he's up there because the race becomes the battle for second or third.  Someone mentioned him replacing Pedrosa, but I think that's a little premature.  Pedrosa is hanging right in there in second so at this point I wouldn't think Repsol would let him go.

As for WSB, take away a Troy and toss in a Ben for a first year win.... not too difficult to imagine that one.

  3. We have to face the fact that MotoGp is the best.

The only reason I could see him going to WSB is if he couldn't get a decent ride in MotoGp

Colin Edwards seems happy now and I've read he wants to stay.

  4. I agree with Julian to a point. but I'm reading this as a newspaper reporter making his own news.

Ben wants to be in MotoGP

The Yamaha ride would be my dream come true. But as pointed out earlier, the new Honda when (user friendly) becomes available. if its as good as is claimed. ( and if Honda realise that a bike has to stop as well as go. I think he would be a target for HRC. (my view only - I think he could replace Pedrossa. controversial i know, but there you have it.

I also think he would take the Ducati, just to get into GP.

Last week i thought we would never see him in GP as there was no ride. This week !!! which team wont !!

But considering WSBK....     with new entry level for GP 2010 new class for 250s (649 ??)

could he be lining up a 5 year deal into GP with a view to winning....   I would have his competition as being Bautista and Redding.

    Food for thought
