This might seem like a silly question?

i'm writing a paper for summer school and i want to include this :

"Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money."

my question is, does it sound a little to hippie-ish?

..i have my reasons.

no its not hippie-ish, its sensible and unfortunately reflects the lesson society needs to learn before its too late.

Any quote can be fit into a paper as long as it goes with the message you are trying to convey.  Just make sure that you include it in the proper section of a paragraph (usually the middle,) and that it fits in with your thesis.
