  1. Before the ball is served, certain players cannot cross certain players, but once the ball has been served, everyone moves to their designated position.

  2. Ok. Mainly you have a position that you play the whole game. But, you rotate for serving the ball.

  3. If you want to play back row and pass all the time, you should try out for the Libero position.  They can enter the match any time on a dead ball.  You can play almost the entire match in the back row.

The point of the rotating is that originally every player had to play every position.  You had to be an all around player.  Many of the adult teams still only have 6 or 7 players.  Today, many of the players are more specialized.

  4. gordon is right, you can play libero but if you don't then you just come in for a player when they rotate to the back... The point of the rotations is for everyone to have a chance to serve, but you might be saying in your head, cant they serve from there position and go quickly after they have served?  Well, no.  You rotate to different positions but you switch to your side.  For example(im going to use outside as an example), if your position is outside but your currently in the middle position because of the rotation and your team is serving, (don't get lost, just grasp it!) you can switch to outside when contact is made during the serve.  This way you play outside all the time.  Well, its really hard to explain but once you get the hang of it you'll remember and tell yourself that's what she was talking about! and have a dull moment!!!....Good Luck!

  5. you rotate to serve the ball cus one person cant just keep serving the whole game and they have to pass to

  6. clockwise
