This new answering system, what is Y!A thinking

It just suggested that I "seemed to have a lot of punctuation". Whereas I thought I had just about enough. Any less would have been wrong.

Who organises these things?

  1. It's all just propaganda to push the Compact Fluorescent light bulb on an unsuspecting public.

Although I like the preview page a lot.

  2. I know, Y!A changed things again and, of course, it's all messed up. [sigh] What are we going to do with these people? [lol] ♥ ∞

  3. It's kind of annoying. It tells that all the time, too. Lol.

I guess it'll take some getting used to.

  4. I think the Y!A staff is just trying to do something to kill time.  The spell check thing keeps popping up and saying that I've spelled something incorrectly, and when I try to click on it, it disappears.  I dunno, Y!A is all f****d up.

Edit:  Ha ha ha, it just told me I had too much punctuation too!

  5. Guess your spell checker was off; anyway, just FYI, quotation marks go outside periods, not inside.  Thought you'd like to know.

  6. I don't know it did it to me too.  I do do the "..." quite a bit, I thought it may have just been that.

  7. Indeed. I especially like the 'tips' ~ "be more specific" ...

Very useful to have a robot tell one how to structure one's thinking.

However, I get my own back by being an Australian speller! The little checker has a fit every time I use words like colour, flavour and Vegemite :-)

Yep ~ there it goes again, hehehehe.

    Cheers :-)

  8. I'm a writer and I've been laughing my butt off all afternoon being endlessly tutored and "reminded" to be "more specific" and that my "caps" might make people think I'm shouting.  lol.  "Oops!  It looks like you have 2 misspelling(s)."  Also, it tells me when I make my happy face that I "seem to have a lot of punctuation".  : )

  9. I notice they don't have spell check available for answers any more either. But wait! It just told me about a misspelling!

  10. It's a corporation what do you expect? They have to change things around all the time to make people subserviant, complacant, and makin sure they "keep up"! I don't like the new yahoo answers either, but it may grow on me!

  11. I suppose the new Y!A answering system was developed by the generation that can't write or spell, in conjunction with the report monkeys that got out of their cages.

We shall manage to survive nonetheless.

  12. Because they have nothing better to do with their time. :)
