Question:

This new word: homeland, which has been introduced into the American psyche, where did I hear it before?

Boo-it just reminded me of n**i Germany, that's all.

It was used by Hitler in an important speech, it was well considered to use that word, it stirs up the feelings that make people compliant with a fascist state.

All we learn from history is that we don't learn from history, as someone wiser than myself said, more or less.

  1. Nothing new about "Homeland".  Every early American had one somewhere else.  Regarding very early references, check your Bible.  Many references to the "Heritasge" of the Jews, their gift from God, the "Promised Land", all of which converted to Homeland.
