we have our own well. the preasure in the bathroom and outside are fine. the preasure in the kitchen and laundry are really slow. i'm a little confused about the kitchen one, because the faucet has a sprayer on it and the preasure is fine coming from there. it's all hooked to the same pipes. someone have any ideas? thanks so much. have a good one to all of you.

  1. The pressure in the usual house is always the same in the pipes when none is being used. The problem is always with a restriction of the flow somewhere in the lines when the water is used. You alone will have to trouble shoot this one by looking at the pipes and seeing if there are potential problems areas. Old galvanized piping, reducing the line size too early, mismatched fittings are just some of them. Look for these specific problems and post back. The kitchen sounds like just a plugged aerator since the wand works ok. Hope this helps.

  2. See if the valve under the sink is opened up all the way in both the kitchen and laundry. Check the screen on the kitchen faucet to see if there is an obstruction. I assume that you have a separate spray wand.

  3. Well water usually has a higher concentration of minerals and sediment that a municipal water supply.  Both of these can contribute to blocked faucet aerators, filter screens, valves, and sometimes even pipes.

Your kitchen situation gives a bit of a clue.  The sprayer works, the faucet is slow.  This is almost certainly a clogged aerator.  Easy enough to test -- remove the aerator from the faucet spout and run some water.  If it runs better, get a new aerator.  The aerator simply unscrews, a pair of vise grips with a cloth wrapped around to protect the finish should do the trick.

In the laundry, remove your washer hoses from the valves -- you should find that the washers in the hose fitting contain a screen.  Replace these screens on both hoses.  Most hardware stores will have replacements, might even find them at Walmart if you are willing to look a bit.

The screens on the washing machine hoses should be on the valve side, but the hoses are not attached on new machines so they could be on either end.

If you don't have any luck with those solutions, you can try closing the valves and opening them back up -- under the sink and in the laundry.  This may loosen some mineral build up and give you better flow.  Other than that, you may need a plumber to find and correct the obstruction in the pipes.

  4. Check the filters and turn on valves,Maybe one of them is plugged up

  5. If your old house has iron pipes, the expensive answer is to replace all the piping with copper.  I had the same situation with my kitchen sink.  The rest of the house pressure was fine.  The spout pressure was low.  The sink spray line even had good pressure.  I replaced the entire fixture and the pressure is back!  Try similar with washer.

    Good Luck
