you wake up in the room you see two people and two doors. one a knight and one a nave, the knight always tells the truth and the nave always lies but you dont know who the knight or the nave is. the only thing you know is one door leads to freedom and one door leads to death. you obviously want to live. heres the hard part. you can only ask one question to only one of the persons. what would that one question be? remember you dont know who is who. if you want an answer i will post it in 30 min from now

  1. LOL! You got this from the 80s movie Labyrinth!

In the film, Sarah asked one of the guards, "Would he tell me that this door leads to the castle?" The guard replied Yes, and she deduced that the other door led to the castle and the door she had pointed to led to certain death, because if the other was telling the truth, the one she'd asked wouldn't be, and if the one she'd ask was telling the truth, the other one would be lying, hence the answer would always in reality be no.

There's no way I'd have been able to work that out on my own though...

  2. I'd ask either "If you were the other person, which door would you tell me to go through?" Then, take the opposite. The knight would tell me to go through the death door, because he know the nave would lie. The nave on the other hand, would tell you to go through death as well, because he knows the knight would say freedom, but would have to lie in the end, and say death. Both will point to death, and the opposite would be the way to go.

  3. You pick one and ask him, "If I ask the other guy which door leads to freedom, which one would he tell me?"

The Knight would tell you one, meaning that it's the wrong one because the Knave is a liar.  The Knave would tell you the wrong door because he's lying about what the Knight would have said.  Either way, whichever door was indicated to you, you go out the other one.
