There's nothing.

And nothing can be a great thing.

Or possibly,

it always is a great thing

and

there is never a semblance of doubt

as to it's greatness.

It's felt in the air

At 2 a.m.

bar closing time

in the lines of fast food lanes

where the workers

wish for a little more meaning

just a little more

than serving drunk college *****

It's a beautiful thing

To watch roses grow at midnight

to become nothing

in a little while

It's just the way it is

And

Some can't see the beauty

In the misery

but

Others can

Those are the true gods among men

They see the end

Not as a beginning

but as

Nothing

And Nothing is beautiful

  1. that is a great poem

  2. Sounds like your high. But I kinda like the "Nothing" thing you got going on here. Keep it up, you show great potential.

When it hits me to write, I get to it, no matter what time of night it is. The good ones come out fast.

  3. Your nothing is too negative.  Go into the nothing and you will see something which is creative, alive and vivid.

  4. If nothing is a great and beautiful thing...then this is the greatest, most beautiful piece of nothing I've ever read.
