  1. Well, you will have to answer two and a half questions for each question you ask. My advice, don't ask any questions till you get your points built up. You can search for answers in the green box above - type in a few keywords, click advanced and set up what you are after then check our search results. This sort of question will not count against your Yahoo points.

  2. I have always heard that everybody has a twin!

  3. This is a bit like the "why do  we lose points when we ask a question" type question.

The idea I think is to try and encourage people to helpothers answer questions - if you didn't lose points, the place might quickly be swamped by people asking ALL their homework questions on here.

If points were not "spent" when you asked a question, there would be no reason to have points at all really as people would ALL end up having shedloads of them!

Anyway, if you take the few seconds needed to award a "best answer", you get 3 points back - so it only costs you 2 points.

    Seems very fair to me.

  4. That'a the system honey.

  5. no, i only ask Q's if it's something i really need to know about, but usually answer them if i think i can help out. also if you decide on a best answer you get points back.

  6. I think it is an OK point system. They just expect you to contribute by answering and helping others. It makes sense to get less points for answering. Just a way to earn the right to ask more questions when you need help on something. Try to give really good answers on topics you are familiar with, and earn 10 points if your's is chosen as best answer.

  7. no

  8. There are no faults in the system based on your story. It is true that you lose 5 points for every question and gain 2 for each answer. Note that if you choose the Best Answer for your question, you'll receive 3 points back.

You earn 10 points for each time your answer is selected as the Best Answer to a question, and 1 point for voting for a Best Answer (if the asker of that question didn't choose the Best Answer already).

I strongly advise you to check the Yahoo! Answers Points System, just to clarify that it's just the way the system is:
