Morgantaler receiving the highest honor of Canada

  1. Dr. Morgentaler lead a very unpopular pursuit which has resulted in the lives of many women being saved.

    Controversy in the order of Canada are not new, there was a huge public outcry in 2001 when Sue Johannson was given the order of Canada as it was said that she advocated promiscuity through her frank discussion of human sexuality.

    I will concede that granting Dr. Morgentaler the order of Canada is a very controversial decision, and possibly one that is premature given widely emotional abortion debate.

    However what Dr. Morgentaler did was make legal and safe a procedure that was already widespread. He fought a very unpopular fight to safeguard women. For that he is worthy.
