i think rob van dam.. 'coz he's actually in the same league with ricky steamboat  for me.. rob is a talented, versatile & a skillful wrestler plus he's hardcore, & he compliment rick steamboat's equally impressive characteristics.. it's not that i say that those who are also in the list are not talented, nor skillful, nor versatile.. they're all great wrestlers in their own right.. its just that rob van dam for me is the perfect match for ricky steamboat..

I think each of them could hang. But for a truly classic match, I would say Jericho, RVD or Mysterio.

I'm going have to say eithe Edge or Jericho, while I am a big fan of The Rock I don't think he, Cena, Van Dam or Mysterio would fit into a "classic" match with Steamboat as they are all "face" and are better wrestlers as "face" then as "heel".  If I have to choose on of the two I would go with Jericho he is by far the better wrestler of the two and he's style of wrestling (Steamboat favors "pure wrestling" over hardcore wrestling) would match up nicely with Steamboats.
