Which cities or towns are bike-friendly? I plan to live without a car . . . for a while. I'm interested in places with bike lanes and fairly flat terrains (i.e. not the Rocky Mts). Please tell me about your cycling adventures to and from work/school/whatever. Do several members in your community ride bikes? Is this an accepted mode of transportation or do you feel like the lone ranger/cyclist?

  1. You dont say which country and the netherlands has loads of bike lane systems but so does seville now as they are banning cars from the city centre.

  2. I think you should look not for bike lanes but places where there is less population. Delhi for instance has bike lanes all over but then there are so many people riding it that its worse than being in a car.

Probably Netherlands is a good option.
