i was watching the news tonight and i just want to know what you guys think about what jimmy rollins said. if you agree or disagree.

if you havent heard, basically, he called phillies fans frontrunners, who love them when they win, but hate them when they lose. [i think you get the idea]

heres my opinion.

all fans are upset when their team loses, obviously. thats just how it is. but just because jimmy is having a pretty bad season, he doesnt have to trash us for it. i, for one, know that no matter how mad or upset i get at the phillies, im ALWAYS watching the next game. yes, i do get angry when theyre not at the top of their game, but i never lose faith. his statement was partially true, because i know phillies fans hate when they lose, but which fans dont?! as a fan, i've stuck by them through the good AND the bad. and here i am, still watching them, even after last years crushing defeat and this years stuggle for the first place spot.

  1. As a Phils fan,i think he's more pissed at the organization than the fans and he's trying to find a way out and he feels by calling out the fans, they'll drive him outta town...I mean the organization doesn't do enough to win they never sign big free agents and always settle for "B list" players...He just frustrated being on a team that doesn't do enough to win.

  2. Two points

  3. well wut he said is true

wen the phills win we r happy

wen the phills lose we r pissed

were still there no matter wut, were just gonna boo ur *** if u suck and keep cheering u on wen u do good

  4. I am so glad you asked this question!!! This may be a little jumbled and thrown together, but I'll try my hardest to organize it. haha

    1. Where the H-E-&-! did this come from? He was on the west coast, and he only chooses to call us out when he's 3,000 miles away.

    2. How are Philadelphia fans frontrunners?! CBP has 40-something sellouts this year, even when their offense has been in so many slumps it actually cancels out the times they manage to hit the ball.

    3. Phillies fans have been waiting 28 years now for a World Series Championship. 15 for a noteable playoff appearance. When a team has some of the best players in baseball, yet they're STILL coming out mediocre, wouldn't anyone be mad?

    4. He has no right to criticize the fans when he is having a below average season himself. He should know that the team has the capability of winning the division, no questions asked. Yet, when they don't play to their potential, he has to transfer the blame. Our BIG HEADED reigning NL MVP should be leading our team. Yet, now he thinks he's done his job. He's CLEARLY too good for Philadelphia if he won MVP.

    5. Rollins has always had a big mouth. Some hate him for it. Others love him. Those few who love him for it, are his fans. Now he goes out and insults those who respect him? How does that work?

Rollins hasn't been the same since he was given MVP. He's in tons of commercials, thinks he can make up his own rules and show up whenever he wants to, doesn't hustle like he used to, doesn't play as hard as he used to, and he is now playing for fame and glory. We don't need ANYONE like that. Yeah, we may be taking a loss by losing him (not that he's going anywhere, just thought I'd add that in), but I most definitely wouldn't think twice about sending him elsewhere. The loyal fans don't need to support, let alone pay to see, millionaires who are going to insult us. He was so out of line.

Okay I'm done rambling, haha. But he is comletely wrong. Some may be like that, but no more than other teams, and he has no reason to call the whole fan base out for it. The Rockies definitely come to mind, as well as the Marlins and Rays.

I have no clue why he thought this would make the situation with us "frontrunners" any better. haha Now he's gonna get booed more than ever

  5. I'm not from Philly, but I'm from Boston and we had our share of troubled stars. (see Manny Ramirez) Manny never called the fans out just the team, but when its that situation the player will never win, how can you rip the people that pay to watch you play? And Rollins is having a pretty bad year, if it wasn't for Utley's great season they might be further out. They have alot of talent they just can't let distractions get in their way. But I still think they will win the NL East.
