  1. Volusia County schools will remain closed Thursday, August 21st , due to the strong tropical force winds and heavy rains projected from Tropical Storm Fay. District administrative offices will also be closed. An announcement will be made Thursday regarding the status of schools and administrative offices for Friday. Parents, faculty and students should continue to monitor the news media.
