  1. vatican city

in italian language "città del vaticano"

  2. citta del vaticano

  3. Only journalists use "Santa sede"

Common people always say "Città del Vaticano" or simply "Vaticano"

  4. Well, it depends on what you mean!

Vatican City (Città del Vaticano) is the State, a walled enclave within the city of Rome, born in 1929.

    It is "simply a place".

The Holy See (la Santa Sede) is the government of the Catholic Church, headed by the Pope (il Papa). It dates back to early Christian times.

It is an organisation internationally recognized.

If you catch a taxi, you have to say "take me to the Vatican City", or rather "to San Pietro".

If you're talking about papal representatives, refer to the Holy See.

  5. citta' del vaticano (vatican city) and in roman dialect it's "citta' der vaticano"

    ciao
