as a muslim we believe in all of allah (god) ta'alaa prophets & make no distinction between any of them 'alaikum salaam.

but...are there any prophets that stand-out to you personally & why?!

mine are muusaa (moses) 'alaihi salaam, because the taurah (torah) was revealed to him & he was a great leader. ibraaheem (abraham) 'alaihi salaam, because he started a line through his son ismaa'eel (ismael) 'alaihi salaam that led to muhammad sallahu 'alaihi wa salaam. 'eesaa (jesus) 'alaihi salaam, because he was truely an outstanding prophet of allah (god) ta'alaa, & the injeel (gospels) were revealed to him. sulaimaan (solomon) 'alaihi salaam, because he was a wise & just king...& after all, i'm named after him. and lastly muhammad sallahu 'alaihi wa salaam, because the qur'aan was revealed to him.

i know everyone who answers this question will not be muslim, i understand that, that's why i aimed it at jews, christians & muslims...but still, let's show respect to one another & let's act like adults. thank you all!

  1. In the first place, you cannot refer to Yahshua (aka "jesus") and to Muhammed in the same sentence on a par with one another, due to the fact that they are different people, who lived in different eras. The one is a minor prophet, while the other is the savior mentioned by many other major prophets in scripture. Your heritage is (presumably) as a descendant of Ishmael ben Abraham. Mine (as a true Israelite) is as a descendant of Isaac by way of Jacob. Therefore, my people are the ones spoken of in the holy laws of the "Torah" (as are yours, I am aware), and it is my people to whom the promises are given. The difference is that your people fail to see the fact that Yahweh's (aka "allah") Messiah has already come and fulfilled His purpose on earth. You see him merely as a minor prophet on a par with all the other minor ones. Until you see this error for what it is, there can be no true verbal intercourse between our peoples.

  2. Well, of coarse to Christians, Jesus was more than just a great prophet. But I do understand Jews and Muslim respect him as a teacher, but don't share our view as a Messiah, and respect your beliefs. My personal belief is he came the first time as savior. And will return as a King to restore the Earth to the Kingdom of God. Under which all mankind will submit.  As for Abraham, Moses, Elisha, Israel and Ishmael, and others, they were all great prophets that served different and important purposes.

I do find it interesting that there are as many different views and beliefs within the Muslim, Jewish, and Christian beliefs and none of three have a market on diversity. Just as there has been and is evil within all three that unfortunately casts a bad image on all three religions. Peace to you.

  3. A prophet standing out to me right now is "Cannon" Mike Richards

  4. What in the h**l does this have to do with hockey?

  5. I'm not sure what this is asking, sorry. Maybe rephrase your question?

  6. Bravo to you for asking a genuine question, and for requesting respectful adult behaviour. Who can ask for more.

I lived in Jeddah (a Canadian, not a Saud) and have seen the tomb of Eve. I doubt many here even know it exists... very cool.

  7. I would have to say I respect and aspire to be most like Solomon.  When God asked Solomon what was the one thing that he wanted God to give him, Solomon asked for wisdom, in order to govern His people righteously.  To think not of his own personal gain but instead to please his Lord shows tremendous character and honor.

I am a Christian and I'm sure you already know that we don't categorize Jesus as a prophet but the son of God, otherwise He would have been my first choice.

  8. I'm Muslim too, and to me I think the prophet that I have personal interest in is Isa alai salaam (Christ). I think it's because the opinions of him differ in all three religions, unlike most other prophets. He was incredibly unique though, at least in the Islamic religion... he was able to revive the dead, he was able to walk on water and speak as an infant.

Musa (Moses) is also very interesting to me, he also performed some amazing things by the power of Allah, and if I remember correctly he was the one that came close to actually "seeing" Allah. He also saved the Jews from the Pharaoh's army - he went through a lot of hardship.

  9. adam 'alaihi salaam as he is the father of humankind.

muhammad sallellahu 'alaihi wa salam , the greatest human.

PS: every other prophet stands out in his own regard.we have to respect all of them equally.

  11. I'm not sure of just how to answer that question yet.

But I will point out something, if anyone here is demonstrating a lack of respect, it's likely they don't even follow the jewish, christian, or muslim teachings. And they are just talking because they can.

I will think on this question, and if I come up with an answer before your question expires, and I get to my computer, and I can go online, I will answer.

  12. This is the hockey section, here we admire prophets such as Gretzky, Orr, Lemieux and Richard, to name a few...
