If this product is ready for mass production, why are we not approaching this system like we did the Manhattan project? Roofing shingles and windows can now generate electricity, but how close are we to mass production? Why are any new state, federal, or other public buildings still constructed without incorporating these and every available energy efficient system? Do we really want to become energy independent or not?

  1. There may be sufficient raw materials but that's not the issue at this point.  Manufacturing costs are too high at this time to mass produce reliable nanoparticle photovoltaic electricity.  It just plain costs too much and there isn't a good process ready for mass production right now.
