This questions is for Dominicans (R.D). What exactly is SANTIGUAR, & what's EMPACHADO?

Does that involve some type of ritual or something? Can christian participate in such a thing? How santiguar can help a person who is empachado?

Santiguar- is to give a special blessing to someone or something (we Dominicans “santiguamos” material things like our new house or car), its given usually by someone with special knowledge (brujo, elderly person or anyone with lost of respect in the region)

Empachado- is the description given when someone has eaten something that has not been digested correctly and its kind of stuck in your stomach.  For instance they say that when kids eat power milk (no water to dissolve this) it gets stuck in the kid’s stomach and we say the kid is “empachado”.

Santiguar: is to give special blessing or ritual  to a kid, person or thing.

normally is done be older people or those that knows about occult science.

Empachado: is when a kid or person has eaten a lot junk food or food not properly made. and you get a bad digestion  and a big belly. to cure it they make some bush/herbs tea  and the person goes a lot the bathroom.

It depends on what type of Cristian the person is. and also who is doing the ritual. (if is done by a grandmother yes, by an stranger i don't really recommend this)

For what I know it is about a (kid) sickness of intestinal transit of a person (empachado).

The first word (santiaguar) must be understood as "beauty of a person to nice to look at".

This was told me by a old Dominican woman.
