I called Babies R Us the other day to ask about the Jardine crib recall... which already ticked me off.... but when I called I looked on the site for the number and this is how it is listed..

1-800-ToysRUs or 1-888-BabyRUs.... Now I looked at the 800.. saw that you could use babyRus, figured I needed to call them... so I dialed 1800 Babyrus... my bad (look again!) welllllll It is one RAUNCHY dirty phone s*x line... And it really made me mad!! When I finally got through the rep already knew about it and laughed about it! I guess my question is who could I write to to complain, and wouldnt that just p**s you off?! I know they can't fix the other line, but they could at least change their own number to 1800 babysrus or something!

  1. If they already knew about it, people must dial the wrong number all the time.  I'm shocked they wouldn't change that, it's pretty gross.  Especially when it's moms calling in and then they get that.  I bet they get tons of complaints.  I would write a complaint to headquarters.  Or possibly there is a place on the website to send complaints?  I complained to a Panera via Online as well as Ben and Jerry's and they both emailed me back within a couple days and mailed me checks.

  2. I don't think there's anything you can do.  The s*x line has the right to use whatever number was free.  It just so happened to share the same last numbers as babyrus.

  3. What a bunch of sh*tty people!!  They do that on purpose.  Watch your phone bill, they might have charged you!!!!

same thing with  www.whitehouse.gov  and www.whitehouse.com

one is info on the white house, on is a p**n site.

    edit**  ooops someone mentioned that

  4. how funny.

reminds me of the time i was 11 and i thought i was calling a radio station to win concert tickets. got a whispery voice promising "honey i'll make you horny" i still haven't gotten over that one. i was one number off. makes me careful when i dial. :-)

  5. I don't get it.  You mis-dialed the phone number.  It was your mistake (that others have made as well).  Its not the fault of ToysRUs.  There is no point in complaining.  There's nothing they can do about it.  Next time just remember to double, triple and quadruple check the number before you dial.

*lol  They clearly stated both phone numbers.  What else do you want them to do?  It was your mistake, not theirs.  Its really not that big of a deal.  They can't change their numbers to one that is already taken.  Even if they could, I'm sure it would cause even more confusion.  I think you are overreacting.  I'm sure that in a few months you'll look back and see how silly you're being.  To answer you exact question though, you can go to the BabiesRUs website and find the "contact us" button.  That's where you could file your complaint...... and no, it wouldn't p**s me off.  I don't let silly things like that get me upset.

  6. It would probably only tick me off if I was already fuming about a crib recall. :) I don't think the rep should have laughed about it though. They should be professional and understand that that is very offensive to some people.

I bet this is what happened:  As soon as Toys R Us expanded into Babys R Us, that p**n line scurried get 1-800-babyrus hoping that Toys R Us would be interested in buying the number from them. I bet they want a huge amount of money. Toys R Us has recently been closing stores, so I don't think they're in a position, financially, to do that. And that's the only thing they can do.

They can't change their number to 1-800-babysrus since that would be more than 7 digits.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Good luck getting the crib issue resolved.

  7. I'm not sure why this makes you mad... but my companies HR number is the same situation.  I try to call HR about work issues and if I dial 800 by mistake, I get a s*x line.

But it's not going to cost you any money or something.... it is 800, you would have to enter your credit card #.

I think it's kind of comical.

Anyway - they can't buy a phone number that's already assigned to someone else.

    Ever been to Whitehouse.com?

    Oops.
