This reel ok for this rod? ?

I just need a cheap reel for this rod my son won at a fishing derby.He likes to fish for panfish and bullhead so we don't need anything expensive.Here are the rod and reel:

This reel will be ok for what you have described. This is a smart move for most beginners. You don't need to spend a lot to get started, just cover the basics and some terminal tackle like hooks, jigs, small spinners and soft plastics.
