Question:

This seems like a great way for stores and manufacturers not to honor their warranties.?

We bought new Good year tires at Sam's. We had Goodyear tires from Wal-Mart, but we were told that Wal-Mart has to honor the warranty. We don't want to go to Wal-Mart because they take all afternoon to balance and rotate the tires EVERY time. I called Goodyear and they defended these companies. My complaint is that Goodyear should honor their tires no matter where they are purchased, and no matter where we take our car for the warranty (if it's a Goodyear authorized store).

Has anyone ever faced this, and what did you do? I'm sure we'll have to live with it, but it's SO WRONG!!

  1. as per rules walmart is not responsible for warranty

only manufacturer (thro' their service centres) viz. goodyear tires are responsible - approach their call centre/service centre - if you fail to get serivce/justice, file the complaint in consumer court

  2. Sams club put some Advantage tires by Goodyear on my van. 3 of 4 of them had major blowouts for no good reason. Goodyear claims they make the tires for Sams and it is up to Sams to warranty the tires. Sams says blowouts are not covered by their warranty.

I quit buying tires at Sams because of this.

  3. Basically you are unhappy because you have to wait for them to do the work?  Cry us a river.  Check how busy the service center is *before* you try and buy tires there.  If it's always jam packed, take your business elsewhere.
