  1. Sometimes were all a little conscious, but I've talked to people who have been in the delivery room while someone was having a baby, and you don't actually see a v****a.. doctors and whomever is in with you is too focused in to see anything but the head/baby.

  2. We all felt the same the first time round but the dr and midwives are all really professional and have seen it all a thousand times before. It does get to the point where your in so much pain you dont care who has their hands down there as long as they stop the pain, sorry to put it so bluntly!

You'll be absolutely fine, just think of it as you have have to go through it to have your beautiful baby so its all worth it x*x

Ive seen others writing that you should have been checked down there when you first found out you were pregnant but i have never been checked there before the baby was born unless by a midwife if there was any concerns, maybe the people saying this are all American and things are different there!

  3. No, believe me, the pain you are in at the time you wouldn't care if they put it on tv as long as they get the baby out!

  4. I understand how embarrassed you feel I really do.  But honestly when you are in labour you really won't care about that sort of thing.  You also must make sure you get a regular smear test - I'm assuming you haven't had one yet as you say you have never been examined 'down there'.  You will be called for a smear test every three years.

(And don't worry about the Americans saying you should have been examined when you were first pregnant - that is not usually done in the UK unless there is a real reason).

  5. Hiya, firstly as a UK ladee :-) i never had an examination when i found out i was pregnant. The embarrassment did cross my mind to but when it came to the time, the midwifes/doctors are so used to it they make you feel comfortable...think how many foofs they see on a day to day basis??! in my experience they let me undress my down stairs regions in private, the they put a sheet on on lap, and i was in a curtained cubical. and like many people have said during the birth the thought of getting ur littleun out will outweigh the worry of people seeing your fooff! by that point you wont care you will be so proud youd dance on the roof with it out :-) hope this is reassuring x

  6. Cute name i like it!!!

Do not worry when you are in  labour it will be the last thing you think about you will just want their help!!!!

and remember its just their job they have done this hundreds of times!!

(just think of the amount of times a dentist looks in peoples mouths!!!)

We all think oh god im  gonna be on show again and i must admit to shaving my bikini line and legs whilst in labour with all 3 of my kids before setting off to the hospital!!!

Just remember these people will be there for the most wonderful  time in your life yes they will see you in all your glory but the chances are you will never see them again!!!

    Good luck honey!!!

  7. lol at pirate =D

omg i feet the same way, im 19 and pregnant second time but with my first child.

i was really scared at the thought of maybe having to have an internal scan done (i was only 7 weeks) and was at first thinking that i won't have it done. but to be honest when i went in all i wanted was to see that i was pregnant and there was a little person growing in me lol (i had a miscarriage at 8 weeks with my 1st pregnancy so was scared)

when i saw the little blob on the screen i felt like crying. i honestly didn't care that the sonographer had a 'stick' 'up there' lolz i was just glad everything was ok.

  8. haven't you ever had a PAP smear? Didn't the doctors check you down there when you got pregnant? Weird doctors if they didn't. I was uncomfortable the first time I went in for an annual exam, but I had a female doctor and always have so that makes me feel better. Plus I make myself think this is their job and they look at vaginas almost everyday. Women from all over have it done. No need to be embarrased about it.

  9. When I first got pregnant, I was embarrassed to. But I started getting used to it after a few visits. When you're in labor, trust me, you will not care who is looking at you. You'll be too focused on other things.

  10. Hiya hun, im only 18 and feel the same way as u do!! everyone ive asked all said when your in labour u dont care good luck hun x*x

  11. I'm not sure how they do it in the UK, but here, if you haven't had a pap before you got pg they would give you one after they confrmed you were pg.

    Weird.

    But anwyays.

When you're in labor the last thing you're thinking about is who is looking at your crotch. You're tired, you're in pain, you just want to get it over with.

I had 3 nurses, my OB and a pediatrician in the room along with my hub and I didn't give 2 s**+ts! I just wanted my son out safely and quickly!

  12. Really? Thats very odd as when you find out your pregnant they should check you down there on your first doctors visit. When I was in labor I didnt give a rats *** who saw me and if I was naked or not the pain was so bad I didnt care lol.

  13. you needn't worry it probably won't cross your mind you will be too busy to even think about it. As for your babies name, I prefer it the other way round, Angel Belle.

  14. Can i just point out to the idiots calling her stupid for not being checked over - she is in the UK and they dont tend to check you over down below when you are pregnant!

PS love the baby name - good luck.

  15. I remember feeling that way when I was pregnant for the 1st time. Don't worry about it because we all have the same bits and nobody is going to bothered except you. The midwife will have seen hundreds of womens bits so there is no need to be embarrassed. Believe me by the time you have given birth you won't care at all, you'll just be glad its all over and that little Belle is safe in your arms.

  16. First i'd like to point out to all other answerer's she is in the UK and here you are seen by a midwife throughout your pregnancy and they don't give you internal examination unless there is a specific reason for it.

Second onto answering your question - Don't worry about it when I found out I was pregnant I was saying I don't wanna be naked and I wanted my bloke to stay at the top end blah blah blah but seriously when I was in labour I so did not care and believe me you will not either - the midwives see those bits all day every day and they are all different and unique to the person all they care abut is delivering your baby safely. My bloke actually watched the baby being delivered close up and i'm really glad he did cos he said it was amazing. Go and watch some videos of childbirth on youtube I did and it really helped me with knowing what to expect. Good Luck.

  17. So you've never had a smear test, or an internal / check up since you are pregnant???

  18. I'm with Pirate on this one - trust me, by the time you get there you won't care.  I was like you when I had my baby, nobody had seen my privates except my other half, and I avoided that as much as possible.  When I gave birth I ended up in a room in a teaching hospital, with my legs akimbo and surrounded by strangers (including several students) and I didn't give a monkeys by that time.  You won't either and in fact it's quite a theraputic experience because you'll find you're less shy afterwards.

  19. I am also very shy about having doctors see my body.  However, in the midst of contractions and water breaking and everything else, I didn't care!  I would have flashed the entire world at that point, all I cared about was getting the epidural and then later getting the baby out safely.  Keep in mind that all the medical staff coming in and out of your room have seen it all a gillion times and they aren't even looking.

  20. dont be daft hun they see those bits every day, you dont need to be embarassed

  21. Ok, so... let me get this right. Ur pregnant 'n haven't been to the ob not once since u've gotten pregnant?? I don't think thats good. Thats something u might wanna do, just to make sure everything looks fine for labor. 'N nobodies gonna remember ur v****a, they see so many.

  22. By the time your in labour you will be in that much pain you wont give a sh*t who is looking at your bits!! You will just want them to make the pain go away! Good Luck Honey.

  23. it really doesnt matter cuz you will be in so much pain you wont even notice
