This sounds wired but i need help with multiplying...(i don't know how to) HELP!?

Question

i'm in a new algebra 1 class and i thought it would be easy until the teacher said "no calculators!" please i need the easiest way to multiply without using a calculator and i need to know how to do it on the spot just in case the teacher calls on me.PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

I suggest that you pull out an elementary math book and review how they teach students to multiply without calculators.  This will require relearning the multiplication tables, but if you are taking algebra 1, this should not be too difficult, it will just require some time and practice.

I'm not sure how you can get into an Algebra class without knowing how to multiply... can you be a little more specific?  What are you multiplying?  i.e.  9 x 6 = 54 is a basic math fact, do you know your facts?  If not, you should get out of the algebra and into a general math class.
