  1. Yes, I have heard of it but no i have never achieved one. However i had a high school professor who said he had. he said he was floating in the corner of the room and he could actually see himself. Theres some kind of meditation trick. I'm sure its not as easy as it sounds though or we all would be spying on other sexes locker rooms unannounced! he he hope this helps

  2. I have read about this as a kid in a Lois Lowry book back in the day and have been fascinated by it since.

I have never acheived it though and in all honesty, never put forth true effort in trying to acheive it.

if you do have one, please share!

  3. I have run into a lot of people who claimed they could do it, but I only know one person who I believe actually has (based on his "spiritual abilities," general honesty and trustworthiness, and ability to provide information explaining what he saw far away).  I don't doubt other people have....but I am yet to find anyone else who I actually believe did.

That said, there are 2 different phenomena.

The first one is where you leave your body and travel far away and see/observe something in another area.

The second is where you blank out and then see yourself from above.

The first one is astral projection, the second one is an out of body experience.  I think to an extent you're confusing the two.

That said in regards to the first one.  I was told "actually doing astral projection is a very bad idea."  Without elaborating, I was given instances of people who died from doing it and why.

The second one, on the other hand is quite common and I know a lot of people it's happened to.  It normally just occurs where your mind enters an extreme mental disassociation.  It's not really "bad" but it isn't "good" either.  It can feel cool to experience, but it has no real purpose.  It's fine if you have it pop up a few times, but ideally you don't want to force it to happen, and if your goal is relaxing and healing, that is an absolutely terrible way to go about it.

    Hope that helps!

  4. Yes, have heard of and experienced it, I think.

Only proof I have is from the gentleman who lived 1000 miles away from me and I'd never been in his home or seen pictures of it inside or out.

I described a wall hanging in his kitchen while I had him on the telephone and he was amazed at the accuracy with which I could see and relate it. Don't know how else to explain my ability to see this so clearly unless I had an o.o.b. experience and some part of me was actually there viewing the wall hanging.

  5. Yes, I have achieved astral projection many times.

The first ability you much achieve to learn to project is DEEP relaxation.  Most people cannot achieve this because they ingest caffeine, too much sugar, junk food, which causes the body stress and it cannot relax.  I find it much easier to relax and consciously achieve astral projection after a water-only fast.  If you want to heal yourself, fasting is also a good way.

Healing your astral body will restult in healing your physical body.  Every change in the astral has a resulting change in the physical and vice versa.  The creative changes usually happen in the astral first then descend into the physical relatively quickly.  Destructive changes usually happen in the physical first, then appear in the astral, but take longer to appear in the astral.

  6. If you want to ask something weird, you've come to the right section.  Beside Religion & Spirituality, this is definitely the place where people with weird beliefs hang out.

Re: Astral projection.  That is the idea that a part of you, usually referred to as soul/spirit is able to leave the body and go travelling elsewhere.  A lot of people claim to be able to do it

However, nobody who's claimed it has ever been able to PROVE it.   Proof would involve something along the lines of their unconcious body being observed to be in one location, but when they "awake" they have knowledge of something that happened in another location that they could ONLY know by being there.

This would be a very simple test to set up and prove that astral projection is possible, and at the same time, proving that the concept of soul/spirit has some validity as well.

As I stated, the many people who claim this paranormal power have never proved it under controlled conditions.

James Randi still has his 1 million dollar offer for a couple more years.  If anybody on this board wants to prove it...nows your chance, and get a million bucks as well.  You  don't have to do it for the money, you could donate it to charity, or to some school of Alt Med
