This will sound a bit weird!?

Ok, I have got a cold which means I also have a blocked nose.

Every time I walk up or down stairs my nose will unblock for about 4 minutes. This happens when I go up or downstairs. Does anyone know why? Is it just me? If I were to guess I would say that slightly changing altitude causes nose sinuses to open... or am i crazy?

  1. i would say you hit that right on the nose!

  2. LOL!  It happens to me too!

You may want to try Afrin nose spray.  It helps keep the tissues from swelling up and blocking your nasal passage.  Be careful though!  If you use it for more than the recommended dosage, you can do more damage than harm.  Used appropriately, its good stuff.

    I hope you feel better!

  3. nope your not crazy thats totally true, thats why it can be so painful to fly with sinus congestion cuz at a certain altitude your sinuses will clear and if they are really blocked it can hurt. try saline spray and drink lots of water or you might end up with a sinus infection, those suuuuuuuck. and need antibiotics to cure. hope you feel better.

  4. Probably has more to do with your body's motion than the altitude change... unless you have REALLY tall stairs!!!!!
