I owed and paid 50% at the time of filing extension and about 2 weeks ago paid the other 50% along with filing. The GOV has cashed both of my checks and I was notified through TurboTax that everything was accepted. Just wondering if I'll now get the stimulus check?

  1. As long as you filed a 2007 Tax Return and owe no other taxes or "off settable" debts such as student loans or unpaid child support AND you fall into the income guidelines you should expect a stimulus check.

  2. If you have no debts to the government you should get the stimulus check.  If you did not file in time to have been processed by April 15th you will get the check much later than those that did.  At the present it is a little confusing to determine when the IRS will mail checks to those of you that filed after the 15th.  As I understand their information on the subject they will start processing the "late filers" about two weeks after the last of the currently scheduled mailings (July 11th).  They claim it will take at least another two week to mail those checks.  Can you say "Merry Christmas"?
