“This year has not been a perfect one for me”; Andy Murray
The Brit tennis ace, Andy Murray is expecting that the appointment of new coach will improve his game in order to become a better overall player.
While talking to the reporters on his decision to part ways with Miles Maclagan, the world number four, Andy Murray commented that he did not feel any requirement to make serious changes to his game.
"I have performed pretty well against some of the top ranked tennis players including Roger Federer as well as Rafael Nadal. I have knocked down Rafa on a variety of occasions on major tournaments. Moreover I have also managed to reach the later rounds of the few major championships as well”, Murray said after his yesterday’s match at the Farmers Classic where he thrashed out Tim Smyczek in his opening match.
"I think it’s good to over view the whole situation in order to get to the root of the problem. And in my view, there is no problem as such wrong with my game. The only thing required is to practice more and more in order to attain accuracy and consistency. That is probably something that has not happened over the recent past, and I am hopeful that a new coach will definitely help me in finding that accuracy in my game”, he added.
Andy, who is thinking for the consultation of both the senior as well as a junior coach commented that, “it was indeed a tough decision for me to sack Maclagan, who had been helping me in improving my game for more than past two years, however it was the need of the time as the two of them had serious differences in approaches in terms of my career.
"I want to feel relax in the team that I have and have full assurance that everyone who's a part of my team agrees on a single approach," Murray commented. "Undoubtedly the past few seasons have gone extremely well, however I am looking ahead in order to upgrade my game and reach the top rankings, to fight and grab a major victory”.
The Scottish player, who viewed that he wished to have a couple of sports consultants around him, accepted the fact that he has not played his perfect tennis since the start of this season, in spite of the fact that he made his way into the semi final round of the grass court Grand Slam tournament last month.
"It has been a tough season," Murray said. "I had a couple of not so good championships; however I am working on it. I definitely felt good with the way I played at the grass court Grand Slam tournament. It kind of helped me in figuring out my flaws and I have done all my homework in this regard and is therefore hoping to perform even better in the upcoming hard court United States Open tennis championship starting from the month of August in the city of New York”.
The number one Brit professional tennis ace, Andy Murray had decided to participate just in the Cincinnati as well as the Masters Series championship prior to the final Grand Slam of the season however later on accepted the offer to take part in the Farmers Classic.
According to Murray, “the heat in Miami was literally killing him however; the temperature in California is quite good”.
Andy’s participation in the ongoing Farmers Classic will also help him in preparing for the upcoming Masters Series this season.
"If I didn't want to participate in the Masters Series, I'd still be relaxing at home instead of being here and participating at the Farmers Classic”, he added.
