"I was playing Test cricket after some time and I got the rhythm and started hitting the right areas after one over or so," Perera said. "Mahela was feeding me with some information and one of the main things he said was that in Test cricket you have to
be patient."
On a supporting pitch, the fast bowlers were required to bowl long spells, but Perera is fit enough to cope with the pressures of international cricket.
The fast bowler said, "I had bowled 17 overs by tea. Even when I was playing Under-19 cricket I was bowling with the new ball and I think I can do well with the new ball."
Since the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SL-Malinga-c2540 (from Tests), the Islanders have struggled in the bowling department. The situation provides Perera an ideal opportunity to make a mark at the global arena.
